I took this picture a few years ago right after a desert fashion shoot. Shooting directly into the sun with a wide-open aperture was risky for my eye ( please don't try to repeat if you have a optical viewfinder), but the payoff was a brilliant lens flare that carries a sense of hope and optimism. The warm desert landscape and iconic Joshua Tree silhouette stand out in this radiant scene—an image that I find uplifting whenever I see it.
